Are you dreaming of setting sail with Disney Cruise Line? Feeling overwhelmed when trying to decide which room you want? When selecting a stateroom, you will want to take into account factors such as size, location, and amenities offered. Whether you prioritize a spacious room with a balcony for stunning ocean views, proximity to onboard facilities, or a budget-friendly option, Disney Cruise Line provides a range of choices to cater to diverse preferences. Making a decision based on your crew’s preferences will help to ensure that you and your family have the most memorable and personalized cruise experience.

Disney Cruise Line offers four main stateroom categories: Concierge, Oceanview with Verandah, Oceanview, and Inside. Each category has a variety of stateroom types that differ slightly from ship to ship. The Concierge Suites provide the most luxurious and spacious onboard accommodations for parties of 5 to 7 guests and come with dedicated Concierge Services. The Oceanview with Verandah staterooms are spacious and offer private verandahs for relaxing and taking in those stunning ocean views. The Oceanview staterooms provide an ocean view through the in-room porthole. The Inside staterooms are the smallest but most affordable room option. You will also notice that Disney offers a Family suite option. These rooms will offer a little more space and a split bathroom setup.
Crew Size Matters:
When picking your stateroom, consider the size of your crew. Most cruise ship rooms will accommodate 3-5 guests. Some concierge level rooms will accommodate more guests, or you may want to consider getting connecting rooms if you’re sailing with a larger party.
Location, Location, Location:
Think about where you want to be on the ship. If motion sickness is something you’re concerned about, you should try to book a room closer to the middle of the ship and on a middle deck level. Being close to the end of the ship or on a higher floor will cause you to feel more of the movement of the ship. If you’re looking for a quiet spot, consider staterooms on higher decks away from common areas. However, if you want quick access to amenities and activities, choose a room closer to the action. When considering location on the ship you may also want to investigate what will be directly above or below your room.
Budget-Friendly Options:
Disney Cruise offers various stateroom categories with different price points. Interior staterooms are more budget-friendly and still provide a cozy space for your crew to rest after a day of adventure. Inside staterooms will typically be smaller and have no outside views however you can still get a family option that will off the spilt bathroom set up. Another fun feature of the interior rooms on Disney cruise ships is that they feature a faux porthole window that will frequently display a Disney character swimming by.
Ocean View or Verandah:
Decide if you want a view of the ocean or a private balcony. Ocean view staterooms offer a window with natural light, while staterooms with verandahs provide a private outdoor space to enjoy the sea breeze.
Concierge Level: Concierge level rooms provide you with the nicest and most luxurious accommodations that Disney Cruise Line has to offer. These rooms come in several different versions and vary by which ship you sail on. In general, what you will find at the concierge level rooms are larger rooms with more upscale amenities. These rooms include some things like nicer bedding and a larger TV. You also have access to concierge exclusive areas on the ship. Concierge guest also get access to booking services, experiences and excursions before any other guests.

Accessible rooms:
If anyone in your crew has specific needs or preferences, such as accessibility requirements, Disney Cruise has accessible stateroom options to ensure everyone enjoys the journey.
Family-Friendly Amenities:
Consider the amenities that matter most to your crew. Do you want extra space, a split bathroom, or a bathtub? Each stateroom category comes with unique features, so pick the one that suits your crew’s preferences. The bathrooms on DCL are actually one of my favorite family-friendly amenities. If you are traveling with little ones who still need a bathtub, you can find that. For crews that include older kids, finding a room with the split bathroom setup can be your perfect fit. In the split bathroom rooms, there are 2 sinks! One in with the shower and then there is a separate bathroom with a sink and stool. This is so convenient when more than one person is trying to get ready.
Adventure-Focused Crews:
If your family plans to spend more time exploring the ship and participating in activities, a standard stateroom might be all you need. There is so much to do on a Disney cruise that you might actually end up spending much less time in the room than you think.
Time for Relaxation:
If you think you’ll want to spend time away from the crowds enjoying an ocean view, then make sure you book a verandah room. The verandah rooms give you your own balcony area that is private and includes 2 chairs and a small table. This is perfect for having a relaxing breakfast in the morning, watching the ship pull into port or soaking in some sun without having a bunch of people around.

Choosing the right Disney Cruise stateroom for your crew involves considering factors like size, location, budget, amenities, and preferences. Take the time to explore the options available and tailor your choice to create the perfect setting for your family’s seafaring adventure.
