Maximize Disney Magic: Insider Tips for Lightning Lane Multi Pass

Planning a day at Disney can be exciting but also a bit overwhelming, especially when it comes to managing time and avoiding long lines. One way to make the most of your visit is by using Disney’s Lightning Lane Multi Pass. This handy tool lets you and your crew skip the regular lines for select attractions, saving you precious time. In this article, we’ll share some practical tips on how to maximize your experience with the Lightning Lane Multi Pass, so you can enjoy more of the magic and less of the wait.

1. Always have three – The number one, key thing you need to know about maximizing what you get out of Lightning Lane Multi Pass is that you should always have three things booked. When you initially book LL’s you’ll be able to make three selections. Once you scan into your first LL of a day, you’ll be able to make another selection. Always having three means that you are consistently maximizing the number of lines you get to skip.

Select “Modify Plan” from this screen to look for different times for your LL.

2. Refresh – When you are looking for LL, you may not be able to find the perfect time to fit with the rest of your plans. Book it anyways! One of the beauties of the system is the ability to modify your times. Once you have something booked you can go back in and select ” Modify Plan.” From here you’ll be able to see if there is a different time available or if there is a better time available at a different attraction. Where the refreshing comes in is in trying to get better times to show up. If you pull down on the screen after you’ve clicked modify, you may see that the times change. You may also see that different attractions become available. For our most recent trip, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at our original booking window. I booked another tier 1 attraction hoping that I would be able to catch Tiana’s if a kept checking back and…. it worked! Two days before our Magic Kingdom day I went in a spent about five minutes refreshing. Tiana’s showed up and we were able to get a ride on this new attraction.

3. Book top attractions first – Top attractions will go quickly! You will want to make a plan before your booking window opens for what attractions are most important for your crew. Go for those attractions first. You don’t want to miss the opportunity to skip the line for one of your kid’s must do’s because another ride was higher up on the page. The other caveat to this is that you want to book your highest priority park first. If the attractions you’re most interested in are at HS, make that the park you start with when you’re booking your LL so that there will be the most availability possible.

4. Book essentials at end of stay – If you have multi-day park tickets, you’ll want to put the parks with your highest priority attractions at the end of your trip. Let’s say that Princess and the Frog is your little one’s favorite movie and there will be a complete meltdown if they don’t get to ride it. If you put your Magic Kingdom Day at the end of your trip, that will mean that fewer people will have access to that day when your booking window opens.

5. Use the plan my day section to select your preferences – Before you start your day, you’ll want to go to the My Day screen and select Get Started Now. In this screen, you’ll be able to tell the app what your preferences are. You can select certain rides, entertainment, characters etc… Where this plays in with LL is in your modify screen. When you refresh to look for better times for attractions, your preferred attractions will now show at the top of the list. This will save you valuable time and scrolling.

6. You don’t have to use a tier one to book another Tier 1 – LL are split into tier 1 and tier 2 attractions for every park except Animal Kingdom. When you do your initial booking you can only book one tier 1 attraction. Another great thing about this system is that you don’t have to use your tier 1 to book another tier 1. So, let’s say you book Slinky Dog (tier 1) but the only time you could get is 8 p.m. That’s okay! Book a tier 2 that you can get pretty early in the day. Once you scan into that tier 2, you’ll be able to book a new attraction, and it can be a tier one.

Using Disney’s Lightning Lane Multi Pass system can make your trip smoother and more enjoyable. By following these tips, you’ll spend less time waiting in lines and more time creating memories with your crew. Remember to plan ahead, stay flexible, and have fun exploring the parks. With a little preparation, you’ll be ready to make the most of your magical Disney experience.
