What is Lightning Lane?
Lightning Lane is what Disney calls their skip the line service. For rides that are a part of this service, you will see a standby entrance and a Lightning Lane entrance.
Starting July 24th there will be two types of Lightning Lanes. These will be Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Lightning Lane Single Pass.
Lightning Lane Multi Pass – Lightning Lane Multi Pass is what is replacing Disney’s Genie Plus system. With this new system you can make reservations for multiple Lightning Lanes in one day.
Key things to know about Lightning Lane Multi Pass:
- Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Single Pass can be purchased in advance. These can be purchased 7 days ahead of your ticket start date for Disney resort guests and 3 days before your ticket start date for off property guests. Resorts considered to be “on-property” for the purpose of this service are all Disney World resorts, the Swan, Dolphin, Swan Reserve and Shades of Green. Disney World Good Neighbor Hotels are not included in the 7 day grouping.
- Lightning Lane is not available as a ticket add on and must be purchased through My Disney Experience.
- Lightning Lane can be purchased for all of your ticketed days when your window opens.
