A smooth Disney morning starts the night before with a little planning. Taking a few simple steps can help your crew avoid stress and start the day ready for fun. Small things like laying out clothes and checking park schedules can make a big difference. Here are 10 easy ways to your crew’s Disney morning runs smoothly so you can focus on the magic.
1. Pack (or Repack) Your Park Bag
Your park bag is your lifeline at Disney! Make sure it’s packed with the essentials: sunscreen, ponchos, autograph books, sunglasses, hand sanitizer, and anything else your crew might need. If you’re reusing yesterday’s bag, do a quick clean out and reorganization so that you’ll be able to find things as easily as possible the next day. 2. Charge All Your Devices
Long park days will definitely drain the batteries on things like phones, smart watches, cameras and Magic Bands. You don’t want to out a damper on your Disney day by having a dead battery. Make sure you plug in all of your devices every night and when you’re packing make sure you take all the charging cords you might need. 3. Lay Out Your Clothes
Mornings at Disney can be hectic while you’re trying to wake up the whole crew and make it to the bus early. Make it easy on yourself by setting out outfits the night before. This includes socks, shoes, and even accessories like ears or hats. The more pieces you plan out, the smoother your morning will go. 4. Plan Your Transportation
How are you getting to the park? You’ll want to make sure you’re familiar with the transportation offered at your resort and where you can find it. If you’re rope-dropping or trying to make a dining reservation, factor in extra time—buses can fill up fast, and some resorts have internal bus loops that add extra time. You should also be aware that the Skyliner won’t operate in inclement weather so if there’s rain in the forecast, you need to have a backup transportation plan.
5. Set an Alarm (or Get a Character Wake-Up Call!)
Disney mornings come early, especially if you’re trying to make rope drop. Set an alarm and allow a little cushion to help your morning be less stressful. For a little extra magic, schedule a character wake-up call from your Disney resort phone—it’s a fun way to start the day!
6. Charge Your Battery Bank
A charged phone is great, but it won’t last all day. You’ll want to carry a battery bank in your park bag to be another level of protection against that dead battery. Charge up your battery bank so you can keep your devices powered while waiting in line or watching a parade. My favorite battery chargers for the parks are ones that can attach to a MagSafe case so that you don’t have to deal with messy cords.
7. Gather MAGIC BANDS (or Park Tickets)
No one wants to be that person scrambling at the gate because they forgot their MagicBand. Gather all MagicBands, tickets, and park passes the night before, and put them in your park bag. Keeping them in the park bag guarantees that you’ll have them and then you can hand out everyone’s band while you’re on your transportation to the parks.
8. Plan or Modify Your Lightning Lane Selections
Plans change, and your Lightning Lane preferences may to. The night before, review your reservations and make any necessary tweaks.
9. Prep Snacks
Did you know Disney allows you to bring food into the parks? Even with all the amazing Disney food, snacks are a lifesaver—especially in long lines or while waiting for a show to start. Pack easy, non-messy options like granola bars, fruit snacks, or crackers.
10. Prioritize Your Must-Do Activities
With so much to see and do, it helps to have a game plan. Talk with your crew about what’s most important to them. Make sure when doing this that’s you set reasonable expectations. There’s no way you can do everything in one trip and some things may not be available the days you’re there. Picking your must do activities ahead and time and knowing how to find them will give you more magical memories in your trip.
